Scholarships are free money from private and government sources that do not require repayment. Each scholarship program will have it's own rules - some are based upon:

* Academic performance

* Essays submitted by students

* Financial need

* Community service before/after college

* Sweepstakes/ random selection

*  Or a combination of the above.

Our FREE guide contains thousands of Scholarships worth BILLIONS of dollars!

Each scholarship will provide instructions on how to apply, deadlines, eligibility, award amounts, and number of awards available.

There are no fees to apply for the scholarships listed in our guide! If you meet the eligibility requirements you can apply through each individual scholarship program.

        What are Scholarships?

          What are Grants?

    What are Student Loans?

This might seem like a dumb question but by far the single largest source of college funding is through the Federal Student Loan Program.

Even if you are a low income student with high academic performance and are eligible for various college scholarships and government grants it's likely there will be some kind of a financial gap that you may need student loans or other funding sources to fill.

HOPEFULLY this gap will be SMALL as that is the purpose of our guide - to get you a FREE college eduation!

That said you should keep in mind it is FREE to apply for College Grants and Loans via FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) so if private scholarships don't cover your Tyuition bill you also have a 3rd option to pay for college via student loans.

Grants are typically provided by government sources (Federal, State or through your college itself) and also do not require repayment

Most grants for college are NEED based which means family income is the primary determining factor.

Overall Government Grants for college outweigh private scholarships (though that doesn't mean you shouldn't also look for scholarships you are eligible for). This is primarily because of federal funding for the Pell Grant program which awards a maximum of $5,920 per student per year and is funded every year by the federal government

The best way to find out if you are eligible for college grants is to complete a FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid) application at the college you will be attending.
